Directions
- Bring your refillable bottle or container (24 oz. limit).
- If you don’t have one, there are 8 oz. and 16 ox. containers available at the Soap Bar (limit two per weekly visit).
- Please be mindful and re-use!
- Label your container (above to the dispensers).
- Choose your soap or detergent.
- Open your container, then place and firmly hold its opening under the spigot.
- Keep hold of the container at all times.
- Dispense carefully.
- Tightly close the lid of your container.
- Paper towels are next to the kitchen sink if needed.

The Soap Bar is operating now, Monday–Friday, 9:30 a.m.–4 p.m. Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate outside these times. If you have particular circumstances, please email us at studentdiversity@udel.edu and we will work with you
The Soap Bar is located in the Resource Room in the Center for Intercultural Engagement (CIE) in the first room on the left upon entry to the CIE's circular common space. See supplies on the shelves to the right.
You're welcome to fill up to one 24 oz. bottle of each soap or detergent per visit. Please be mindful; soaps and detergents are heavy. Take what you need for a reasonable time; we're available all week!
Please note: laundry detergent is concentrated. Here are some helpful tips to understand how much you need:
- Regular washers:
- 8 oz. = 5–7 small/medium loads
- 16 oz. = 10–14 small/medium loads
- 24 pz. = 15–21 small/medium loads
- ~2 tbsp per load
- If taking pods, there is a one bag (10 pods) limit per person, per weekly visit; equivalant to a container of liquid laundry detergent.
- If using our containers, you are limited to two containers (8 oz. or 16 oz.) per person, per weekly visit.
Please go to the front desk associate and they will bring a refill. If no one is there, the dispensers are checked periodically, so come back the next day!
No worries! We have some you can use (limit two per person, per visit; take from the bin under the white counter). Please try to save and reuse your bottles—we only have one planet!
We will continue to offer a limited supply of laundry detergent on the FSP order form and encourage shoppers to use the Soap Bar as a more environmentally-friendly option. We will direct FSP shoppers to the Soap Bar in the event that we run out of stock for the week.
The laundry detergent brands are identical (i.e. Tide). The hand soap brands are different but are of comparable quality. We do not offer dishwashing liquid in the FSP order form.
Unfortunately we do not have the staff capacity to pre-fill bottles, but if you need assistance when you arrive, our staff is always happy to help!
