Staff Spotlight: Kate Bailey, AS15, Assistant Director, Alumni Relations

As UD alumni, you meet a variety of UD staff members to help you with career and professional development, to reconnect you with your alma mater and to provide many other resources and benefits. Here, meet Kate Bailey, AS15 (Major in Interpersonal Communications, Minor in Human Development and Family Studies), and MA22 Strategic Communications, who manages alumni clubs around the country and works to offer a range of alumni events—whether they're virtual or in person.

What's your favorite UD memory?

I have many great memories from my time at UD, but one of my favorites was studying abroad in South Africa with the HDFS program in Winter 2014!

Favorite UD or Main Street meal?

It's a tie between the dumplings from The Wandering Chef cart on Amstel Ave. and the nachos from Klondike Kate's.

When will recent grads most likely hear from you?

Once you graduate, you will receive regular communications from our team about alumni events to attend and ways to stay involved! In normal times, if we know the area you live in, we might invite you to in-person events with other local Blue Hens like a Nationals baseball game in Washington, D.C., or a walking food tour in Rehoboth Beach, DE. Since many of our offerings are now virtual, we are able to extend invitations to alumni around the world, so be on the lookout for fun virtual events like cooking classes, game nights and webinars that feature alumni experts. Be sure to receive these event invites and more by updating your contact information.

What is your best piece of advice for the Class of 2021?

Take advantage of your network! The Blue Hen community is vast, knowledgeable and willing to help, whether it be for career advice or a friendly connection.
