The Perks of a Virtual Reunion

The Perks of a Virtual Reunion

Even though we won’t be able to gather in person, there are definite upsides to a virtual reunion celebration. Here are our top five!

1. There’s no commute!

Do you live far from campus or lack the time for traveling to UD? That’s no problem this year! You can attend your virtual reunion from the comfort of your couch. No babysitters, designated drivers or other planning needed!

2. You can fake a really cool location

Zoom in from the kitchen of your dreams or even from a tropical location! You can adjust your background image to whatever you desire. We’re also providing some neat UD Zoom backgrounds to show off your Blue Hen spirit.

3. Did somebody say beauty filter?

Not only can you wear sweatpants to a virtual reunion, there are filters you can apply (located in video settings on Zoom) that give you a nice glow. Say goodbye to any stress about how you look (not that you should stress about this, anyway)!

4. It’s an introvert’s dream

Just think—you can feel connected with your alma mater without actually having to make conversation … you know, if that’s not your thing. A virtual reunion makes it easy to enjoy catching up with UD and Blue Hens from the comfort of being behind the screen.

5. But it’s also an extrovert’s dream!

Chat! Breakout rooms! Backgrounds! Reactions! There are many ways you can connect with others, show off your comedic flair and more! Even if your particular reunion doesn’t have breakout rooms scheduled into the program, you’re more than welcome to stay on the Zoom and chat with fellow Hens after that.

All jokes aside, we think your virtual reunion is going to a blast—between throwback photos, shared memories, fun features catered to your class year and more, your hour-long virtual reunion will give you that little boost of UD connection you’ve been looking for in our current virtual world. Can’t wait to see you there!
