My approach to teaching is guided by a belief that creating citizens is one of the most important functions of schools and institutions of higher education. I am committed to creating an inclusive and democratic environment in which all students can learn, and use equity-minded pedagogies to intentionally address inequities in student experiences and outcomes. I am a student of the scholarship on teaching and learning which I draw on to inform my instructional practices, course design, and engagement with students in and out of the classroom.
As part of my commitment to advancing equity and inclusion in graduate education, I have developed a series of doctoral professional development workshops and resource documents to support student success.
