Senate discusses language requirements, change in meeting time
The University of Delaware Faculty Senate met on Monday, April 6, in Purnell Hall.
The Senate discussed a proposed change to second-language requirements and a proposal to shift the time of future meetings to accommodate faculty with other obligations. President Laura Carlson noted the installation of limited-access signs around campus and highlighted the General Faculty meeting on May 15, followed by the One Idea, One Slide Summit that afternoon in Mitchell Hall. Interim Provost Bill Farquhar spoke about advocacy and faculty surveys. John Ernest, English, and Jose-Luis Riera, vice president for student life, provided an update on the Campus Culture and Engagement Initiative.
