Equity-Centered Assessment

In line with our divisional strategic objective to monitor and expand equity-centered assessment practices across the division, SLADAR provides multiple avenues for divisional staff to learn more about these practices and philosophy through reading groups, presentations and sharing external resources.

Department Review Process

Using the Council for the Advancement of Standards in Higher Education standards, SLADAR manages the department review cycle and administrative processes, provides training and support to those departments undergoing an internal review process and facilitates the external reviewer selection and site visit process.

Annual Reporting

Each spring, all departments within Student Life are expected to report on their year, summarizing their accomplishments, challenges, assessment initiatives and departmental progress on the strategic plan. SLADAR facilitates this administratively through the creation of the annual report form and submission process and works collaboratively with Student Life Marketing & Communications to develop a divisional annual report.

Gallup's Q12

Working collaboratively with Human Resources, SLADAR administers Gallup’s Q12 employee engagement survey to divisional staff approximately every two years. In line with our strategic objectives to ensure team members feel connected to their roles, the division and the institution, as well as prioritizing employee’s holistic growth and wellbeing, the Q12 provides key data to understanding and directing divisional improvements in service of these objectives.

Blue Hen Check-In

The Blue Hen Check-In is administered once each semester to new students around the six-week mark. It is designed to connect students to resources that most closely align with their needs, focusing on their academic and social transition as well as if they are experiencing financial distress or would like some support for their wellbeing. Students are referred to Student Financial Services, the Assistant Dean of their college or colleagues within Student Life for support, depending on their responses.

The Division of Student Life advances equity and inclusion, deepens student learning and drives holistic development through education, experiences and communities.
