INTERNALLY TRANSFER COURSES TAKEN THROUGH UD CEND TO A GRADUATE PROGRAM

Difference between Graduate courses taken through CEND vs. GCND

  • Graduate-level CEND courses are transcribed on the undergraduate record. These may be eligible to transfer to a graduate record.

  • GCND courses are already part of the UD graduate record. No transfer needed.

Courses must:

  • Be at the 600 level or higher.

  • Earn a grade must be "B" or better.

  • Have been completed in the past 5 years.

  • Fulfill a course requirement for your graduate degree.

  • Capped at a total of 9 credits earned through CEND may be applied to a UD graduate degree.

CEND transfer credits/grades

  • Credits, grades and quality points will transfer, counting in the graduate GPA.

  • Graduate transfer credit policies are outlined in the current catalog: Academic Regulations for Graduate Students >> Courses and Credits >> Transfer of Credits

Timing for submitting the form

  • Do this after being admitted to the UD graduate program.

Meet with your graduate program coordinator

  • We strongly encourage you to meet with your graduate program coordinator to discuss the transfer credit process before beginning the form.

  • Confirm that the courses you would like to transfer from CEND are allowed for your graduate program.

Submit an CEND Graduate Transfer Credit (CGTC) request

  • Copy/paste this CGTC template into an email and complete the information.

  • Email it to your graduate program coordinator.

  • In the subject line, include your full name, UDID, and “Request to Transfer CEND Graduate Course”.

Next steps - In your department

  • Your graduate program coordinator will review your CGTC request.

  • If they have questions or need additional information, they may return to you for editing. Please reattach and resend when responding.

  • If they approve of your request, they will forward your request to the Graduate College with their approval.

Next steps - Graduate College

  • The Graduate College will review your CGTC request, ask questions if needed, and then add it to a queue for processing by the Registrar’s Office.

  • Your transfer credit should appear on your UD record approximately 2-3 weeks after your approved form has arrived at the Graduate College.

  • Due to high volume, the Registrar’s Office cannot confirm when your credits have posted. Please check UDSIS and/or Stellic regularly.

  • If credits have not posted within 4 weeks of your form’s approval, email gradstudentforms@udel.edu.
