Financial Aid

 

Undergraduate and graduate students enrolled in an online degree program may be eligible for financial aid, which consists of scholarships, grants and federal loans to offset educational costs.

FAFSA

 

Fill out the FAFSA as soon as possible to determine eligibility for federal financial aid, such as grants, scholarships and more. Note: UD’s FAFSA code is 001431.

Grants

 

Grants, which do not need to be repaid, are need-based financial aid. Undergraduate students pursuing their first bachelor’s degree are automatically considered as long as they file the FAFSA and demonstrate financial need.

Scholarships

 

UD automatically considers admitted students for a range of scholarships, with no separate application required. Other scholarships may be available through non-University resources.

In addition to loans, grants, scholarships and employer reimbursement plans, you may want to consider either a Federal Direct PLUS (Parent) loan or an alternative loan. Federal Direct PLUS loans are federal loans available to parents of dependent students. Alternative loans are non-federal loans offered through a bank or other lending institution. Filling out the FAFSA determines your eligibility for federal, need-based financial aid and loans. Sallie Mae loans are offered through a private company, so you might encounter different interest rates and repayment options.

The University offers a four-installment payment plan for both the fall and the spring semesters. There is a $50 installment plan fee for enrollment in the plan for each semester. The beginning balance for each semester is divided equally into four payments, and payments are due monthly. However, payment plans are not offered during special sessions, summer and winter.

No, the total estimated tuition cost does not include textbooks or other miscellaneous fees.

Typically, UD does not extend tuition deferment except in unique circumstances. Speak with your program graduate director for assistance.
