Estimated Cost of Attendance 2024-25

F-1 and J-1 students are required by federal regulations to show proof of financial support in order to be issued an I-20 or DS-2019. The total cost per program will vary based on factors such as educational level, number of courses taken and personal living expenses.  The following are estimates based on the minimum number of credit hours required by immigration regulations. Tuition and fees are subject to change without notice.

Students in the School of Nursing will have a $1,500 Differential Charge per year and are required to show at least $65,984 in funding.  Students in the Alfred Lerner College of Business & Economics will have a $2,000 Differential Charge per year and are required to show at least $66,484 in funding. Students in the College of Engineering will have a $4,000 Differential Charge per year and are required to show at least $68,484 in funding. Read more about the differential charge.

**The International Service Fee rate above is based on fall or spring semester start dates. If you are starting your program in a summer session, the minimum financial requirement is $450, which reflects the additional $90 summer session International Service Fee.

If you are bringing dependents, you are required to provide an additional $6,725 per dependent spouse, $6,725 1st dependent child, 2nd dependent child or more: $5,380. The dependent financial minimums are based on guidance from U.S. Citizenship & Immigration Services and a percentage of the U.S. Department of Human Health & Services (HHS) Poverty Guidelines to ensure compliance with federal regulations. *The University of Delaware published graduate student tuition base rate for graduate credit in 2024-25 is $1,069 per credit hour. Some programs have higher or lower rates based on various factors, including competitive market research and demonstrated success as their existing price point. Graduate tuition rates are listed with each program and can be found through the program search tool on the Graduate Programs page.

The international service fee is a mandatory fee charged to international students and scholars enrolled at the University of Delaware in support of the advisory and support services provided by the Center for Global Programs & Services (CGPS). This fee provides international students and scholars with essential services such as immigration advising, processing of documents, regulatory reporting, and various acculturation and engagement programs and resources. It also helps cover the cost of maintaining institutional compliance with federal regulations.
