    The ELI offers a variety of programs and accommodates students of all ages, which has given us the exciting opportunity to serve multiple generations within the same family. This is the case with ELI alumna Emily Liu and her mother Lanzhu Liu; while Emily wanted to learn English to broaden her skillset for her career, her mom wanted to learn English to be able to travel in her retirement. The ELI met both goals.

The Delaware Teachers Institute (DTI), a partnership between UD and New Castle County school districts, helps teachers develop innovative curriculum units that use students’ interests as a bridge to academic achievement. One DTI seminar this year focused on how to use sports to teach concepts in various subject areas.
