Animal Science Non-thesis M.S. (BEL Concentration)

This degree with a concentration in Business, Entrepreneurship, and Leadership (BEL), provides graduate students with tools and skills for pursuing or advancing in a career related to animal science. Students take core courses in advanced animal science, electives in areas such as ethics and leadership, and an individualized problem solving project.

Animal Science Non-thesis M.S. (VBBOH Concentration)

This degree with a concentration in Veterinary Biosciences, Biotechnology, and One Health (VBBOH) is ideal for recent graduates aiming to expand their knowledge and experience base prior to entering into a professional degree program or the workforce. Students take advanced coursework related to host-pathogen interactions, nutrition and immunology, and technical and practical training. Graduates also complete an individualized research project to further skill development.

The PhD in Animal and Food Sciences equips students with extensive theoretical knowledge and practical training for a highly skilled position in animal science or food science. As part of this research-intensive degree, students will complete multiple projects related to their faculty advisor’s field of study. Entomology & Wildlife Ecology

Entomology M.S.

Graduate students in this field focus on insects or vertebrates with a broad knowledge of other related fields of biology, especially ecology. Graduates are prepared to enter the workforce as entomologists working in the areas of integrated pest management, biological control, urban entomology, forensic entomology, insect systematics or insect ecology. This program also prepares students for the pursuit of a Ph.D.

Entomology and Wildlife Ecology Ph.D.

Students complete coursework in all aspects of ecology, conservation, physiology, taxonomy, and policy as well as conduct an intensive field research project. Concentration options include Entomology and Wildlife Ecology. Graduates are prepared to enter the workforce as upper level scientists for state and federal agencies or as faculty at colleges and universities.

Plant Science or Soil Science M.S.

Our plant science program involves coursework in plant molecular biology, plant breeding, plant pathology, plant tissue culture, horticulture, crop science, plant anatomy and/or plant physiology. Soil science thesis research includes soil chemistry, soil fertility and management, soil physics, soil microbiology and biochemistry, soil and water quality and environmental microbiology.
