Our department offers outstanding academic programs for undergraduate and graduate students preparing for research, teaching, and extension careers in entomology, ecology and wildlife conservation.

    Doug Tallamy, the TA Baker Professor of Agriculture and Natural Resources, has dedicated much of his career to reviving healthy ecosystems so that plants, animals and insects can thrive. He is on a mission: Encourage people to rid their property of invasive plants and replace them with native species, which provide critical habitat for insects and birds.

    Anxiety was high, and the lights were bright as UD wildlife ecology and conservation students took to the stage in Baltimore. Selona Baker, Madeline Brown, Jack Geraghty and Aidan Short competed in The Wildlife Society’s 25th Annual Quiz Bowl, held during the society’s annual conference. The small team, formed only a month before the competition, faced long-standing teams from other universities.
