UD's New Employee Peer Mentoring Program

Applications accepted through Jan. 20, 2025

To help make the transition into the UD community as seamless as possible for new faculty and staff, Human Resources has developed the New Employee Peer Mentoring Program, launching this spring.

This opt-in, semester-long program aims to engage and connect new employees (less than two years at UD) with the broader organization by pairing them with an experienced, tenured employee (five-plus years at UD) who will guide and support them as they acclimate to their new work community.

Following the success of HR's fall pilot program, which paired 17 mentors and 17 mentees, Human Resources is excited to continue fostering connections and building a supportive community. Participants shared overwhelmingly positive feedback, with one mentor noting, "I wish this resource was available when I started at UD." Another mentor commented, "I would participate again and would recommend it to both experienced and new colleagues."

One mentee said, “I would recommend this program to all new employees.” Another added, “A must-have experience for the newly hired employees. I am grateful that I had the chance to join.”

New and tenured employees are encouraged to apply now to become a mentee or mentor. Applications will be accepted through Jan. 20, 2025.
