UD's Weinberg Center For Corporate Governance hosts 4th annual ESG Symposium Feb. 13

Join the University of Delaware’s Weinberg Center for Corporate Governance for its fourth annual ESG panel, where leading experts will explore the evolving role of corporate directors in the shifting landscape of Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) issues. This free event will be held Thursday, Feb. 13, from 2 to 5 p.m. at UD’s Clayton Hall. Registration is required: https://bit.ly/42j769H.

Led by John W. White of Cravath, Swaine & Moore and Lawrence Cunningham of the Weinberg Center, the session will offer valuable insights for both practitioners and academics. Rather than focusing on specific ESG regulations, the panel will address how directors can navigate challenges such as ESG backlash, "green hushing" and shifting stakeholder expectations. Panelists will discuss best practices for board oversight, corporate leadership’s role in ESG strategy and the balance between director duties and managerial discretion.

As the ESG landscape evolves, the fundamental responsibilities of directors remain unchanged. This event will provide practical tools and knowledge to help you stay ahead of emerging trends and excel in your governance role.

Students are invited to participate in a writing competition for a chance to win one of three $500 prizes. Attend the panel, submit a paper and elevate your career. Register today to network, learn and engage with thought leaders.
