UD Police arrest a man who is unaffiliated with the University and charge him with felony burglary
University of Delaware Police arrested a man unaffiliated with the University following his theft of computer equipment from a campus building.
Joshua Thogersen, 41, of Oxford, Pa., was charged with third-degree burglary, a felony.
At approximately 2:20 p.m. Jan. 24, UD Police responded to the General Services Building following a report from a University employee that an unknown male had entered the building through the shipping and receiving area and removed computer equipment. Officers viewed surveillance footage and determined the subject had already left the building. UD Police identified Thogersen nearby and retrieved the computer equipment from his vehicle.
Thogersen was arrested and charged with third-degree burglary, a felony. He was seen via video phone in Justice of the Peace court, released on his own recognizance, and given a no-contact warning and an unconditional trespass warning from the University.
