Deadlines approaching for paid opportunities in spring and summer sessions
The Undergraduate Research Program has programs that allow students from any major to participate in research or creative activity during the spring semester or Summer Sessions.
Summer Scholars spend 10 weeks (about 40 hours each) working under the supervision of a faculty mentor. The student must list their mentor and describe their proposed project when they apply. The program starts June 9 and ends Aug. 14, when students present their work at the Symposium for Undergraduate Research. Scholars receive a $4,000 stipend. For tips finding a mentor and/or developing a project, visit URP Getting Started or visit the office (180 South College Ave.) to speak with staff. Applications are due March 3.
Students interested in part-time research or creative projects may apply to be a Summer Fellow. Applications open in mid-April. Interested students must propose a project and list a faculty mentor. These projects vary in time commitment and funding.
Work-study eligible students interested in conducting research during the spring semester can participate in the UD Research Apprenticeship Work-Study Program (UDRAW). Students gain research skills and make meaningful contributions to a research project. Participants earn $15 an hour. Students can browse the list of positions on the website and contact the faculty member listed with their position of interest. Positions will be updated early in the spring semester. Interested faculty can advertise a work-study position through the UDRAW program.
