Three appointments will be made for 2025-2027 program
A new cohort of Delaware Environmental Institute (DENIN) Faculty Fellows will soon be appointed, and University of Delaware faculty members are invited to apply for one of the three positions in the 2025-2027 program. Applications are due by Feb. 28.
Founded in 2009, DENIN is a University-wide environmental research and education institute, directed by Holly Michael, Unidel Fraser Russell Career Development Chair for the Environment in the Department of Geological Sciences. More than 200 UD researchers are affiliated with DENIN.

Faculty Fellows participate in the strategic planning and activities of DENIN and develop a unique initiative related to their personal, professional and/or research interests, helping to move DENIN in innovative and sustainable directions.
DENIN Faculty Fellows serve two-year terms and receive up to $10,000 in financial support annually, along with administrative support for environmental initiatives, research and education.
DENIN’s 2023-2025 Faculty Fellows are Jon Cox, associate professor of art and design; Nina David, associate professor and director of the energy and environmental policy programs in the Joseph R. Biden, Jr. School of Public Policy and Administration; and Kent Messer, Unidel Howard Cosgrove Chair for the Environment and director of the Center for Experimental and Applied Economics.
