Writing Center announces spring workshops

UD community invited to participate

The University of Delaware’s Writing Center is offering a series of free online workshops this spring, designed to support students, faculty and staff in improving their writing and communication skills. All UD undergraduates, graduate students, faculty and staff are welcome. To register, please complete this online form

The series kicks off on Feb. 25 with "Personal Statements that Pop!". This workshop will help attendees craft standout personal statements, providing tips on what to highlight and what to leave out, especially for those applying for internships, graduate programs or scholarships.

On March 5, "The Myth of the Bad Writer: Building Writing Confidence" will tackle common writing anxieties and offer strategies to boost confidence in writing, particularly for first-year students, graduate students and multilingual writers.

The series continues with "Presenting Your Research at a Conference" on March 13, offering advice on creating and delivering effective research presentations. "Navigating the Challenges of GenAI and Writing" will be held April 17, addressing ethical considerations when using generative AI tools in writing.

The final workshop, "It’s Not Only About What You Say: Engaging With Your Audience" on April 22, will focus on nonverbal communication and strategies to reduce anxiety when presenting.

Visit the Writing Center website for more information, including the times for each event. Participants will receive a link to join each workshop after registration.
