Making conversation

University community is invited to improve language conversation skills

The Language Proficiency Center (LPC) invites all members of the campus community to practice their French or Spanish language skills during Conversation Tables drop-in sessions. Graduate students and native speakers lead conversations several times each week, and sessions are open to everyone, from new learners to those preparing to travel abroad.

There is no cost and no appointment is necessary—just stop in. All session are held in the lobby of Jastak-Burgess Hall.

Spring 2025 Schedule

Spanish Conversation Table

  • Monday: 2 – 3 p.m. and 3 – 5 p.m.
  • Wednesday: 2 – 4 p.m.
  • Friday: 2 – 3 p.m.

French Conversation Table

  • Monday: 2 – 4 p.m.
  • Tuesday: 1 – 3 p.m.
  • Wednesday: 2 – 4 p.m.
  • Friday: 1 – 3 p.m.

Sponsored by the Department of Languages, Literatures and Cultures, the LPC also offers tutoring for students currently enrolled in a language course.
