New Play Festival in bold text on theatre curtains with silhouetted audience

UD's New Play Festival kicks off May 3

New stories are waiting. Will you be there to hear them first?

Join us in kicking off our first New Play Festival. UD's New Play Festival is a vibrant celebration of original works written and brought to life by student and emerging playwrights.

All That Glitters, by Jim Hawkins | 3-5 p.m.
Five friends book what they think will be a luxurious and immersive Gilded Age weekend... but their stay is more authentic than they imagined. Be the first audience to hear local playwright Jim Hawkins' new work — a comedy of uncomfortable parallels between a long ago era and our own time.

The Stroman Fellows Play Readings | 7:30-9:30 p.m.
Listen to four excerpts of brand-new plays, fresh from the minds of student playwrights who are ready to make their mark. These Fellows have been working and mentored on their scripts all year, and you'll be the first audience to hear them. Join us for a dynamic showcase of exciting new work from the next generation of storytellers.

Admission is free. Join us at the Roselle Center for the Arts - Thompson Theatre on May 3 to support these bold new voices and fresh new stories.
