A 22-year-old man who is unaffiliated with the University has been arrested following a multi-month investigation by UD Police
The University of Delaware Police Department arrested a 22-year-old man who is unaffiliated with the University and charged him with multiple felony offenses.
Cezanne Hoag, of Lititz, Pa., surrendered to UD Police at approximately 12:30 p.m. April 17. He was arraigned by video phone on seven charges, including four felonies, stemming from a January sexual assault. Hoag received $81,500 secured bail, which he paid, and was released from UDPD custody at 3:30 p.m. April 17. He also received a ban from University property through an unconditional trespass order and a no-contact order with the victim.
Hoag’s identity was known to the victim, a UD undergraduate resident student. His arrest is related to a UD Police investigation that began following the initial report of an alleged sexual assault that occurred on the evening of Jan. 25 in the University Courtyard Apartments. UDPD issued a UD Alert at approximately 3 a.m. Jan. 26 in compliance with the federal Clery Act and began its investigation. Over the next several weeks, UD Police conducted an investigation leading to Hoag’s arrest.
