Looking to raise funds for your registered student organization, research project, team or other UD cause on GivingTuesday? This year’s fundraising project application is now available.

GivingTuesday, the global day of philanthropy, will be held on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving, Dec. 3. Each year, this event generates support for over 100 UD fundraising projects led by UD students, faculty, staff and alumni.

In 2023, more than 130 departments, teams and student groups participated in GivingTuesday and generated over $153,000 for their programs.

“We have over 35 club sports teams at the University of Delaware,” explains Bruce Thompson, assistant director for Club Sports. “Though the University allocates some funding, the majority of the team funds comes from University-supported fundraising efforts. They rely on the generosity of donors to outfit their teams in uniforms, travel to competitions and cover other team expenses. Crowdfunding on GivingTuesday helps these students compete and achieve their goals.”

Members of the campus community are invited to complete a fundraising project application now through Oct. 13. Applicants must submit all content and images as well as a valid UD purpose code with their application.
