Fall 2024 kick-off for the Reimagining PedAIgogy: AI Literacy for Educators Series

Registration is open for this AI workshop series

The AI for Teaching and Learning Working Group invites the entire UD community to join the Reimagining PedAIgogy: AI Literacy for Educators series. This series—offered in collaboration with UD Information Technologies, the Library, Museums and Press, the Center for Teaching and Assessment of Learning and other campus partners—is designed to provide valuable insights and practical skills for integrating AI thoughtfully into our academic and professional environments.

These workshops are open to all instructors, researchers, teaching assistants and staff and aim to deepen your understanding of AI's role in education, its impact on student learning and its relevance to academic research. The series offers virtual sessions that explore various aspects of AI application in education, beginning Sept. 24 and 25 with two engaging topics:

Using Generative AI to Promote Critical Thinking

Faculty will use popular generative AI tools—ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot, Unriddle—to promote critical thinking through textual analysis and content generation. We'll also critically evaluate AI outputs for inaccuracy and bias. By the end of the workshop, you'll have hands-on experience with generative AI tools and specific procedures for integrating them in your teaching and research.

Selecting and Communicating AI Use Policies in Classes

UD faculty are empowered to select and communicate a policy about AI usage that makes the most sense for each class. In this workshop, participants will review the common policy options, determine which policy best aligns with the learning goals and situational factors of their class(es), and make a plan to effectively document and communicate their AI usage expectations with students.

Don’t miss out on this chance to engage with colleagues across the  University and explore how AI can support and enhance your work. Visit the Reimagining PedAIgogy: AI Literacy for Educators website to learn more and register for these workshops.
