First Year Seminar Program accepting applications for 2025 Peer Mentors

The University of Delaware First Year Seminar Program (FYS) is seeking Peer Mentors for fall 2025.

FYS Peer Mentors are upper-class Blue Hens who serve as resources and role models for first-year undergraduates. Under the leadership of a faculty or staff instructor, they co-deliver course content, create community and provide critical student perspectives.

To serve as an FYS Peer Mentor, applicants must be in their sophomore, junior or senior year, have a cumulative grade point average of at least 2.8 and pass an Office of Student Conduct and Conflict Resolution check prior to hiring. Mentors should also be meaningfully engaged in other campus organizations.

Once accepted, all are required to take UNIV 301, a one-credit pass/fail class that meets in the second half of the spring 2025 semester.

FYS Peer Mentors will earn $900 in compensation over the course of the fall 2025 semester. Returning students receive an additional $100 for each year they serve, up to a maximum stipend of $1,100.

The application deadline is Monday, Oct. 14, at noon.

Interested? Join FYS for an Interest Meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 1, at 4 p.m. in room 101 of Warner Hall. The application can be found on the First Year Seminar Program website. For questions, please contact fys-program@udel.edu.
