UD Dining Services recognized as Delaware Business of the Year

Celebrating inclusive employment practices and commitment to accessibility

In honor of National Disability Employment Awareness Month, the University of Delaware Dining Services celebrates a remarkable milestone: Dining has been awarded the prestigious Delaware Business of the Year title by the State Rehabilitation Council of the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR) and the Vocational Rehabilitation Advisory Committee of the Division for the Visually Impaired (DVI).

This award showcases the dedication the team has to foster an inclusive and supportive environment for all employees of all abilities, reinforcing the University’s commitment to diversity and opportunity.

"We are proud to create a space where all team members can thrive," Eric Bringman, resident director of Dining Services, said. "Our goal is to not only provide meaningful employment but also build a workplace that values and grows from the contributions of every individual."

Upcoming Chef Spotlight: Celebrating Inclusion with Cashmere Constant

As part of its National Disability Employment Awareness Month celebrations, Dining Services is hosting a special chef spotlight featuring Cashmere Constant and her signature recipe, Jerk Chicken Macaroni and Cheese. Constant has been with UD's dining team since 2008, starting out by cleaning tables and growing into a valued member of the culinary team at the On Deck Station in Caesar Rodney Dining Hall. Her journey is one of growth and dedication, and she hopes to inspire others with her story.
