Nov. 2: UD Chorale to perform with Morgan State University Choir

Master Players will present the most ambitious choral concert in its 21-year history

On Saturday, Nov. 2, the Master Players Concert Series will present “United Voices of America: Morgan State University Choir and UD Chorale” at 8 p.m. in Mitchell Hall. The choirs will perform a program celebrating the great traditions of American vocal music.

UD Chorale was ranked #1 Choir in the World by Interkultur in 2024. Under the direction of Unidel Professor of Music Paul D. Head, the choir frequently performs with the Delaware Symphony Orchestra, has made appearances at Carnegie Hall in New York, Verizon Hall in the Kimmel Center in Philadelphia and, as an integral part of the Delaware Choral Scholars, has participated in numerous international collaborations. The choir was awarded the division championship at the Llangollen Eisteddfod in Wales (2023) before traveling to New Zealand to compete in the World Choir Games (2024), returning home with four gold medals and three division wins.

The Morgan State University Choir has performed worldwide, receiving critical acclaim. Named the "Best College Choir" in 2004 by Reader’s Digest magazine, the choir has collaborated with numerous symphony orchestras, including the Philadelphia, Chicago, New York, National and Baltimore Symphony orchestras. Eric Conway, the director, has overseen many significant performances during his tenure, including singing at the Rosa Parks Memorial Service in 2004 and performing for President Barack Obama during the Live at the White House Series in 2015.

Tickets are $35 for adults; $30 for seniors and UD faculty, staff and alumni; and $10 for students. To learn more and purchase tickets, visit the Master Players site.
