Faculty Workshops and Mentoring Opportunities

October faculty development hosted by Faculty Affairs, ADVANCE Institute and ACHIEVE Institute

Faculty Affairs, the ADVANCE Institute and ACHIEVE along with faculty development are inviting all interested faculty to their October workshops. These events will add insight to faculty search committees, teach faculty how to leverage their mentoring network and provide more information about the University's annual appraisals, peer reviews and promotion and tenure process. Separate registration is required for each event, which are provided below.

Oct. 15, 9-10:15 a.m.: Workshop for Faculty Search Committees. This virtual session, facilitated by the ADVANCE Institute, will be discussion intensive and is designed for search committee members. Register here to attend.

Oct. 17, 1-2:30 p.m.: Associate Professors — Optimizing Your Mentoring Network. This session, offered by ACHIEVE and faculty development, will help associate professors strategize to develop and leverage their network of coaches, mentors and advocates to attain their goals for the next few years. This is a hybrid event, held in person and on Zoom. Register here to attend.

Oct. 18, 3-4:15 a.m.: Workshop for Faculty Search Committees. This virtual session, facilitated by the ADVANCE Institute, is discussion intensive and designed for search committee members. Register here to attend.

Oct. 22, 10-11:30 a.m.: Mentoring for Success: Annual Appraisals, Peer Reviews and P&T. This session, hosted by Martha Buell, the vice provost for faculty affairs, will explain each of the formal evaluation processes at the University — annual appraisals, peer reviews and promotion and tenure — and help faculty gain a better understanding of how these processes relate to each other. This is a hybrid event, held in person and on Zoom. Register here to attend.
