UD hosts Swipe Out Hunger Drive to combat student food insecurity
November 08, 2024
Meal swipe donations will be accepted Nov. 12-13
In partnership with the Office of the Dean of Students and UD Dining Services, the University of Delaware is proud to support Swipe Out Hunger, a national nonprofit dedicated to ending college student hunger. On Nov. 12-13, all UD dining halls will host the Swipe Out Hunger Drive during lunch hours (11 a..m.-2 p.m.), giving students an opportunity to make a difference.
The meal swipe drive allows students to donate their unused meal swipes, which will then be converted into meals for fellow Blue Hens facing food insecurity. It’s a simple yet powerful way to help those in need within our UD community.
“Food insecurity can deeply impact a student’s well-being and success,” said Eric Bringman, resident district manager of Dining Services. “The Swipe Out Hunger Drive offers a way for students to come together and support one another, ensuring that everyone has access to the resources they need.”
If you or someone you know is struggling with food insecurity, please reach out to the Office of the Dean of Students for additional resources and support. Join us in helping make UD a place where every student has access to the nourishment they need to succeed.
