Alumna Danielle Haulsee will discuss her work charting a dynamic ocean

The College of Earth, Ocean and Environment will host “Charting a Dynamic Ocean: A Career in Tracking Fish, Robots and a Changing Ocean Environment” at 2 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 21, in Gore Recital Hall.

The lecture will be led by alumna Danielle Haulsee, who earned her doctorate in oceanography at UD in 2017. Haulsee is the chief scientist at Hubbs-SeaWorld Research Institute, where she oversees the organization’s main location in San Diego, hatchery and Florida office. Using technology like advanced bio-logging, remote sensing and underwater robots, she researches the impact of a dynamic ocean on the occurrence and distribution of marine fish and sharks.

This event is a tribute to the extraordinary generosity of Patricia Orris Robertson, 72M, and Charles W. Robertson Jr, whose gifts have transformed graduate education in UD’s School of Marine Science and Policy. While at UD, Haulsee was one of the students supported by the Robertsons’ philanthropy.
