A University student faces two felony-level counts of invasion of privacy

A University of Delaware student has been charged with two felony-level counts of invasion of privacy.

Christofer Miedreich, 19, an undergraduate student, turned himself in to University of Delaware Police on Nov. 11. A day earlier, on Nov. 10, Delaware’s Office of the Attorney General approved two felony-level charges of invasion of privacy against Miedreich following a multi-week investigation by UD Police to recover evidence that Miedreich had video-recorded the victim without consent. This is believed to be an isolated incident.

In addition to criminal charges, Miedreich’s case has been referred to UD’s Community Standards and Conflict Resolution. Miedreich has been separated from the University, meaning he is not permitted to enter buildings, grounds and facilities owned or managed by the University and he is prohibited from participating in University-sponsored activities.
