Want to host an Alumni Weekend 2025 event?

Check out these ideas and submit your event by Feb. 18

The University of Delaware’s largest annual alumni event, Alumni Weekend, is planned for June 6–8, 2025. This year’s event will include class reunions, a signature event on The Green and much more, including the potential for a variety of events hosted by UD colleges and departments.

The Office of Development and Alumni Relations (DAR) invites you to host engaging and hands-on events and activities that showcase the incredible initiatives and research happening in your area to generations of Blue Hens and friends who attend Alumni Weekend.

Based on feedback from past Alumni Weekend attendees, here are some helpful tips to guide your planning process:

  • Food- and Drink-Related Events: This could be a tasting event, cooking demonstration or a local partnership feature.
  • Hands-On and Engaging Programming: From workshops and DIY activities to live demonstrations, we encourage events that allow our alumni to get involved directly. Think interactive displays, maker spaces or even team challenges.
  • Fun, Summer-Themed Activities: The event should be lighthearted, social and ideally fit for summer. We are aiming for events that bring a relaxed yet exciting atmosphere.
  • New Skills or Takeaways: Alumni love leaving these events with something new to try, learn or bring home with them. Consider offering short lessons, demonstrations or activities that teach a skill or craft they can enjoy in their everyday lives.

DAR is eager to collaborate with you to bring these ideas to life. Feel free to reach out to Teresa Giacotto at tmanniso@udel.edu to start the conversation. If you’re ready to submit your event idea, please complete this form by Feb. 18 to ensure it’s included on the Alumni Weekend website when registration launches in March.
