Canadian Brass to kick off Master Players season on Oct. 8

Superstar ensemble brought the brass quintet genre to global prominence

The Master Players Concert Series is kicking off its 20th concert season with the legendary brass quintet Canadian Brass on Sunday, Oct. 8, at 3 p.m. in Mitchell Hall.

Canadian Brass is well known as the ensemble that brought the brass quintet genre to global prominence and established it as a mainstay in the chamber music world. Founded in 1970, the ensemble has recorded 138 albums, received a combined total of 24 Grammy and Juno nominations, and won the German Echo Award for Goldberg Variations. They are considered masters of concert presentations for their uniquely engaging stage presence and rapport with audiences. They will perform a program of light classical and modern favorites.

Tickets for the Vienna Boys Choir concert on Dec. 9, 2023, and the MozArt: Xiang Gao & Friends concert on April 27, 2024, are now sold out. Tickets remain for guitarist JIJI & violinist Danbi Um on Nov. 12, 2023; vocalist Justin Austin and pianist Howard Watkins on Feb. 25, 2024; and the piano four-hands duo Christina and Michelle Naughton on March 17, 2024.

Tickets for Master Players concerts are $25 for adults; $20 for seniors and UD faculty, staff and alumni; and $10 for students. Tickets can be purchased anytime online or Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. by calling 302-831-2257 or visiting the Delaware Ticket Office in the Bob Carpenter Center. $10 livestream tickets are available for select performances.
