Reflecting on an Engineering Career

Eric Furst will deliver an inaugural lecture on Dec. 6

The campus community is invited to attend the inaugural lecture by Eric Furst, William H. Severns Jr. Distinguished Chair of Chemical Engineering, on Wednesday, Dec. 6, at 4 p.m. in room 501 of FinTech Innovation Hub. His lecture, “An Engineering Career in Three Figures,” will be followed by a reception in the adjoining lobby.

Furst is an expert in soft materials science. His lab researches the physics and chemistry of colloidal, polymeric and biomolecular soft materials to see how using these materials can be used in applications ranging from energy conversion, nanotechnology and biotechnology.

Esteemed by his peers, he has been named a Fellow of the American Chemical Society and the American Association for the Advancement of Science. He has earned a NASA Exceptional Scientific Achievement Medal, an Excellence in Advising Award from the University, and an Excellence in Teaching Award from the College of Engineering.

To attend this in-person lecture in-person or virtually, register online.
