Graduation events being planned to celebrate the Class of 2023

Planning is now underway for the University of Delaware’s celebrations of the achievements of the Class of 2023, with festivities scheduled from Monday, May 22, through Saturday, May 27.

The University-wide Commencement ceremony is scheduled at 9:30 a.m., Saturday, May 27, in Delaware Stadium. President Dennis Assanis will preside over this event, which will feature a Commencement speaker to be announced later this spring and the presentation of honorary degrees.

In addition to the main Commencement ceremony, each college will host its own individual Convocation, bringing together its faculty, staff, graduates and families to celebrate and recognize each graduate’s UD experience. Also part of the celebration, special events will spotlight military commissioning, doctoral recipients, Honors graduates, student athletes, nursing students, the Kente stole ceremony and graduates of the Associate in Arts Programs.

Tickets will be required for Commencement and all the Convocations and special ceremonies, and ticket distribution details will be announced in March. All ceremonies and events also will be livestreamed.

Degree candidates (associate, bachelor's and master's) planning to attend Convocation or Commencement must order their regalia here, no later than Monday, April 10, 2023.  Regalia pick up will begin at the Barnes & Noble UD Bookstore, 83 East Main St., on Wednesday, April 12, during regular business hours.
