Reuse Pass: A sustainable to-go program
University of Delaware Dining Services is thrilled to announce the launch of the new and exciting Reuse Pass program, revolutionizing how the department will handle to-go meals in the dining halls. This innovative initiative aims to reduce single-use plastic waste and promote sustainable practices among our students. Get ready to embrace a greener lifestyle with the Reuse Pass.
Here's how the program works: Each to-go container will feature a unique QR code. To participate, students simply need to register with their Grubhub app and affiliate their student account with the program. Once registered, they will receive their own personalized QR code. When students wish to take their meals to-go, they present their app with the QR code to the cashier. The cashier will scan both the student's code and the container's QR code, linking the container to the student's account. Students can then enjoy their meal outside the dining hall.
Returning the containers is a breeze. Once finished with the meal, students will drop the container in one of the designated to-go return bins found at every dining hall entrance. The dining staff will take care of cleaning the containers, ensuring they are ready for reuse.
Dining services staff are excited to share that the Reuse Pass program will be available at CR Fresh food company, Russell Dining Hall, Pencader Dining Hall, Ecogrounds, and Greens to Go.
By participating in the Reuse Pass program, students can significantly reduce their carbon footprint and contribute to a greener campus. For further information, please visit: https://udel.campusdish.com/Sustainability/WhatWeAreDoing
