UD community invited to donate books the week of April 23

In celebration of National Library Week (Sunday, April 23, to Saturday, April 29, 2023), the UD Library, Museums and Press will host a children's book drive next week. Donations of new and gently used children’s books will benefit students in kindergarten through fifth grade at West Park Place Elementary School, a public school in the Christina School District located just a few blocks from Morris Library.

Students, faculty, staff and members of the greater Newark community are invited to participate in the drive. To donate, please bring new and gently used children's books to Morris Library the week of April 23, and place them in the bin located next to the security desk near the entrance.

Following the drive, the donations will be delivered to the school and placed in its Library Media Center for all students to access and borrow on a weekly basis. Duplicate copies of any books will be distributed to students to take home to grow their personal home libraries.
