Video by Staff of Department of Athletics and Recreation Services

Second-year head coach is preparing for the 2023 football season

University of Delaware alumnus Ryan Carty will begin his second season as the Blue Hens’ football coach on Thursday, Aug. 31, when UD visits Stony Brook for a Colonial Athletic Association contest.

Carty sat down to talk about his time as a Blue Hen student-athlete, and how that experience has helped shape the coach he is today. Nick Boyle, Gino Gradkowski, and Pat Devlin, all former Blue Hen student-athletes who went on to have NFL careers, also chimed in to discuss how important it is to have a former Blue Hen leading the program.

The annual Blue-White spring football game will get underway at 6 p.m. on Friday, April 21, with the gates to Delaware Stadium opening at 5 p.m.
