UD Police investigate robbery and assault in residence hall

Editor's note: 10 p.m., May 19. University of Delaware Police have identified all suspects in this incident and have made arrests. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact UD Police at 302-831-2222.

University of Delaware Police are investigating a reported assault and robbery of a student in Harrington Hall A.

Police were called to the residence hall just before 1 a.m. on Thursday, May 19; a male student reported he was chased and beaten by a group of men who subsequently stole his phone. The incident is believed to be an isolated one; the alleged assailants specifically targeted the victim for reasons of a personal nature. 

UDPD is interviewing witnesses as the investigation continues. Residence Life staff members are offering support to concerned residents. 

Members of the University community are reminded to be vigilant: If you see something, say something. Call 911 to report suspicious activity.
