Dining Services celebrates Women's History Month
March 07, 2022
Highlighting UD women chefs all week
March is Women’s History Month, and University of Delaware Dining Services is celebrating the talented and dedicated team of University of Delaware women culinarians during the week of March 7-11, honoring the chefs who are paving the way for future generations of women to pursue their dreams and passions.
In recognition of all the accomplishments that women have achieved throughout history, Dining Services is saluting the contributions that UD women culinarians make every day and their impact on the lives of others.
All three on-campus residential locations will be highlighting the culinary team with a weeklong chef spotlight series featuring the chefs' signatures dishes and stories.
Join in honoring the women culinairian team and stop by Pencader Dining, Russell Dining Hall or CR Fresh Food Company to try a featured dish. The chef spotlights are showcasing UD's diverse chefs through their stories, experiences and culinary talent.
For example, Chef Natasha works at Pencader Dining, and her signature dish this week is Arroz con Gondolas y Pollo Guisado. Chef Natasha draws inspiration from her Pakistani and Puerto Rican background, and her passion for food has fueled a lifelong love of learning about her heritage and the cuisines of her family.
Other featured chefs and their signature dishes are
- Baker Melissa, Strawberry Crunch Cake
- Chef Barbara, Cajun Grilled Chicken and Shrimp Alfredo with Fettucine
- Chef Stacey, Curry Chicken with White Rice
- Chef Pamela, Japchae (Korean Glass Noodles)
- Chef Desiree, Butter Cream Chicken Thighs
