Cans for cites and food drive results

Seventh annual Cans for Cites and Food Drive donates 2,852 pounds of non-perishable food items

The University of Delaware Department of Parking Services’ annual Cans for Cites and Food Drive program collected 2,035 pounds of non-perishable food items for the Food Bank of Delaware just in time for the holidays.

Additionally, 817 pounds of non-perishable items were donated to Blue Hen Bounty prior to exam week. Blue Hen Bounty is a student-run food pantry that provides supplemental nutrition to all UD students in need of this support.

A total of 285 parking citations were paid for with food items in the program. Parking Services plans to continue this popular amnesty program next fall.
