eduroam Wi-Fi available at all Delaware Libraries
May 26, 2020
UD and community can now get secured eduroam access from Delaware’s Libraries
The University of Delaware and State of Delaware Division of Libraries have partnered to expand eduroam Wi-Fi access for UD students, faculty, and staff. eduroam Wi-Fi provides users with a free, seamless and more secure way to connect to the internet and complete remote work or studies.
Following the model employed by the UD and local K-12 schools, public libraries across Delaware are utilizing parking lots to provide expanded access. Members of the UD Community can access eduroam Wi-Fi at libraries between 8 a.m. and 10 p.m.. These extended hours are being offered to support persons teaching or enrolled online in evening courses.
Delaware Libraries will continue to provide eduroam inside their buildings once they reopen. Of the many benefits this commitment offers, one of the most significant is the provisioning of long-term, dependable connectivity for portions of the state where internet access is inadequate, unavailable or inaccessible.
Connecting to eduroam Wi-Fi will continue to be seamless for UD students, faculty and staff with a device — such as a phone, tablet, or computer — already enrolled in eduroam. In this instance, students’ devices will automatically authenticate and connect to eduroam. A student can enroll a new or additional device by completing the UD eduroam enrollment process. Completing the enrollment process using a public Wi-Fi access point may be necessary prior to connecting to the eduroam Wi-Fi. Information on where to access eduroam is available on UD’s COVID-19 Wi-Fi map.
