The Barnes and Noble University of Delaware Bookstore contacted all students earlier this month recommending that they place orders for their books online and have them shipped to their place of residence or off-campus housing.

For those who cannot have books shipped to their residence, the Bookstore does offer in-store pick-up, but orders should be placed online in advance. Placing one large order for all your books, rather than multiple orders over several days, is recommended.

Once an order is placed, students will receive a confirmation email, and, when the order is processed and completed, a copy of the invoice listing available pick-up dates will be emailed. Students will only be allowed to pick up their orders on one of the specified dates. Orders will be available 24-48 hours after they are placed; same-day pick-up will not be available.

Students with last names beginning A-K will be able to pick up their orders once confirmation has been received on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Students with last names beginning L-Z will be able to pick up orders on Tuesday, Thursdays and Saturdays. In all case, the first date shown in the email will be the first day a student can pick up books.

The Bookstore, located at 83 East Main St., is following strict health and safety protocols: Face masks are required to enter, and lines will be physically distanced with markings on the floor 6 feet apart. Please anticipate longer than average wait times. Only the entrance on Academy Street is open.

• 10 a.m.-6 p.m., through Aug. 30;
• 9 a.m.-8 p.m., Aug. 31-Sept. 3;
• 9 a.m.-6 p.m., Sept. 4;
• 10 a.m.-6 p.m., Sept. 5-7;
• 9 a.m.-6 p.m., Sept. 8-10;
• 9 am.-6 p.m., Sept. 11;
• 10 a.m.-6 p.m., Sept. 12; and
• noon-6 p.m., Sept. 13.

Regular fall hours will begin on Sept. 14: 10 a.m.-6 p.m., Mondays through Saturdays; and closed, Sundays.
