Road work will close street from Lovett Avenue to Courtney Street

Update: Because of the weather forecast, the road work originally scheduled for Oct. 30-31 has been rescheduled for Friday, Nov. 1. The timing of the closure will remain the same: 7 a.m.-3:30 p.m.

A section of Academy Street from Lovett Avenue to Courtney Street will be closed on Friday, Nov. 1, while the city completes repairs to the road where water main improvements were made earlier in the month.

That section of the Academy Street will be closed from 7 a.m.-3:30 p.m. (See the detour route at left.)

The Perkins Student Center fire lane and garage entrance will be available for parkers coming from the south via Park Place or Courtney Street to Academy Street. Please do not enter the garage from the one-way exits or drive lanes off Courtney Street; the entrance to the garage will be open.

Motorists in the area should expect delays and follow the posted detour signs.

This project is dependent on the weather.
