March 26: Data sciences information session

UD to host data sciences information session highlighting graduate and professional programs

Job analytics firm Burning Glass recently reviewed millions of employment listings posted on more than 40,000 online sites and determined that big data was the technical skill with the greatest increase in demand, 3,977 percent, from 2011 to 2015.

Addressing the opportunities revealed by this data and other reports, several UD departments and programs have joined forces to hold a combined information session on March 26 highlighting graduate and professional development programs in the data sciences and statistical analysis fields.

The Mastering Data Science and Statistical Analysis Information Session is intended for undergraduates considering graduate school, working professionals looking to advance in or change their careers, and anyone else looking to learn more about UD’s offerings in the data sciences.

Attendees will be able to meet program faculty and check out some examples of the work being done in the following UD graduate and professional development programs:

• Applied Statistics (master of science)
• Bioinformatics (master’s degree and graduate certificate options)
• Business Analytics (MBA)
• Cybersecurity (master’s degree options, graduate certificate)
• Data Analytics (certificate program)
• Data Science (master of science)
• Statistics (master of science)
• GIScience and Environmental Data Analytics (graduate certificate)

This free information session takes place Tuesday, March 26, 6:30-9 p.m. in the Tower at STAR Audion at 100 Discovery Blvd. on UD’s Newark campus.
