Looking ahead to winter session 2020

First Social Entrepreneurship study abroad offered winter session 2020

Planning for the University of Delaware's winter session 2020 study abroad has already begun. A new course is among them and it is a first for Horn Entrepreneurship.

Most of the coursework for the three-credit course, called International Social Entrepreneurship Ecosystems: Germany (ENTR/HDFS 367), will take place in Berlin and Munich, Germany, tentatively Jan. 10-30, 2020 and will include several free days to explore nearby sights. Both cities offer their own unique ecosystem for local social entrepreneurs developing their networks and create change for good. Students will observe, understand and interact to draw comparisons to experiences in the United States.

Prof. Stephanie Raible has based the course on her own past positions and collaborations in Germany. Raible, assistant professor and faculty director for social entrepreneurship, currently has a joint appointment with UD's Department of Human Development and Family Science and Horn Entrepreneurship. The micromester course fulfills or replaces requirements for both HDFS and ENTR students.

Three open house information sessions are scheduled at Horn Entrepreneurship, Venture Development Center at 132 East Delaware Ave. in Newark. They take place:

Wednesday, Fed. 20 from 6:00-6:45 p.m.

Tuesday, March 5, from 4:00-4:45 p.m.

Monday, March 18 from 5:00-5:45 p.m.

If you have further questions or can not attend the scheduled information sessions please email Stephanie E. Raible, sraible@udel.edu.
