UD receives national recognition for achievements in student success

EAB presented the University of Delaware with the Student Success Collaborative Citizenship Award on Thursday, Oct. 4. Formerly known as the Education Advisory Board, EAB is a national firm that works with educational institutions to identify and apply proven practices that help them achieve their goals.

The award recognizes an institution that “selflessly shares their practices and approaches to student success and strives to help their peers succeed.” Awardees are chosen from among the colleges, universities, and individuals that use EAB’s student success management system.

In October 2016, UD launched the Blue Hen Success Collaborative based on EAB’s platform combining technology, research and predictive analytics to help UD advisers manage academic support resources for students.

“We are pleased to be recognized for our efforts to advance student success,” said Chris Lucier, UD vice president of enrollment management. “The Blue Hen Success Collaborative has been transformative, and we are delighted to help our peers learn from our experiences.”

“The 2018 awardees, like their predecessors, excel in using technology to amplify the efforts of advisors, faculty, administrators, and students and work collaboratively across campus to help more students stay in school and graduate,” said Rich Staley, executive director at EAB. “The winners exemplify what schools can achieve with a campus-wide approach to student success, strong leadership, and an unrelenting commitment to helping more students reach their potential.”

Lucier accepted the award on Oct. 4 at the Student Success Collaborative’s summit, CONNECTED, a three-day gathering of leaders from universities and colleges across the country. Awards were also presented to winners in the categories of visionary leadership, return on education and technology pioneer.
