One man arrested, another sought in Feb. 14 robbery on Laird Campus

University of Delaware Police have identified two men in connection with the Feb. 14 robbery of a 21-year-old male student in a parking lot near the Thomas McKean Residence Hall on the Laird Campus. One man has been arrested and the second is still being sought.

Kimar T. Johnson

UD Police detectives, working in conjunction with the Newark Police Department and the Delaware State Police, used video surveillance footage to locate the suspects’ vehicle and identify the suspects.

Detectives obtained arrest warrants for suspects Kimar T. Johnson, 26, of Newark, Delaware, and Markwon D. Ross, 21, on charges of first degree robbery, second degree conspiracy, possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony, wearing a disguise during the commission of a felony and third degree criminal trespass.

On Feb. 28, Johnson was apprehended by the Delaware River and Bay Authority driving the vehicle used in the robbery. He was taken to UD Police headquarters, and his vehicle was seized. He was arraigned through Justice of the Peace Court 11, received $56,000 secured bond and was taken to the Howard Young Correctional Institution.
