Serafin String Quartet, Julie Nishimura to perform at Gore Recital Hall

The Serafin String Quartet and pianist Julie Nishimura will perform at 8 p.m., Tuesday, March 7, in the Gore Recital Hall of the Roselle Center for the Arts on the University of Delaware campus in Newark.

Tickets cost $15 for adults; $10 for UD faculty, staff, alumni and senior adults; and $5 for students. Tickets will be available at the door, cash or check only.

The musicians will present a performance of Brahms Piano Quintet, described as the pinnacle work for string quartet and piano configuration.

In addition, the Serafin String Quartet will perform Beethoven String Quartet in C Major, Op. 59#3, the “third Razumovsky” quartet, a delightful work famed for its virtuoso last movement.

The Serafin String Quartet is the quartet-in-residence at UD and features Kate Ransom and Lisa Vaupel on violin, Sheila Browne on viola and Lawrence Stomberg on cello.

Nishimura is the faculty accompanist in the University’s Department of Music.
