Adelante, Kente Stole ceremonies mark achievements of graduating students
The University of Delaware Center for Black Culture will hold the Adelante graduation ceremony for Latino/Hispanic students and the Kente Stole graduation ceremony for black students, both on Friday, May 26.
The deadline for registration for both ceremonies has been extended to Friday, March 24. For details, contact the Center for Black Culture at 831-2991 or cbc-mail@udel.edu.
Both of the annual ceremonies recognize the achievements of graduating students while affirming the contributions of family members and supporters.
The stoles are worn as an acknowledgement of ancestry to symbolize accomplishment, community and pride.
The Adelante Ceremony will be held at 4:30 p.m., Friday, May 26, in the auditorium of Clayton Hall.
The Kente Stole ceremony will be held at 6:30 p.m., Friday, May 26, in the ballroom of Clayton Hall.
