UD's Nicole Enabosi named CAA women's basketball player of week
University of Delaware sophomore Nicole Enabosi has been named the Colonial Athletic Association women’s basketball player of the week, the conference announced Monday.
Enabosi, who has posted double-doubles in five straight games, averaged 19.0 points and 12.5 rebounds to lead the Blue Hens to wins over Northeastern and the College of Charleston. She also shot 70.0 percent from the floor, connecting on 14 of the 20 shots she took.
The forward opened the week with 15 points and 13 rebounds against the Huskies and followed with 23 points on 8-for-9 shooting from the floor and a 7-for-7 effort from the free throw line while grabbing 12 rebounds versus the Cougars.
With her five consecutive double-doubles, Enabosi became the first Blue Hen since Christina Rible (2000-01) to register at least five straight games with a double-double.
Enabosi has started all 18 games this season and currently leads Delaware (10-8, 4-3 CAA) with 14.0 points, 9.7 rebounds, 1.9 steals and a 45.3 shooting percentage.
Enabosi shared player of the week honors with James Madison senior Precious Hall while Drexel’s Bailey Greenberg was tabbed the rookie of the week.
The Hens continue CAA play this weekend with trips to William and Mary (Friday, 7 p.m.) and Towson (Sunday, 2 p.m.).
